Registrar's Report
For the week ending December 16, 2007.
Happy Holidays
All of us at ISRR want to wish each and every one of you blessed and
safe holidays. Each year during November and December, we see an
increase in interest and requests. Often holidays remind us of those
who are missing from our lives. This time of year creates a
wonderful opportunity to give a little extra attention, caring or
kindness to our loved ones. Cherish their presence. Make that phone
call, write that personal note, drive out of the way to see someone
who can benefit from a visit or some assistance. Strangers can be
uplifted from an honest smile. Let someone get ahead of you in line
or take the parking space. These little things are the gifts we can
all give. I am always astounded at how the the simplest of actions
can touch so deep, matter so much, change a whole day. This week we
received a note with a contribution ... it simply said "This
donation is made in the name of my children ...one of whom is still
missing from our lives." And another contributor wrote: "For this
wonderful service, may it continue until the last match is made!"
Thanks to each and every one
of you for your support, well wishes, prayers and assistance
throughout this year and the 32 previous ones.
Hope.
Only a few weeks ago we received a registration from an adoptee born
in 1928. Her birthmother had registered with us in 1986. Then there
were twins where only one knew that fact. There is always hope and
usually ways to acquire more data on your family. We want to
encourage you to click on "Get
More Info" for guidelines to assist you in acquiring additional
information. So often, one more piece can complete the puzzle or
help us determine relationship. Gather as much information as you
can and please remember to send us updates.

Missing Registrants
This
year we revisited 54 older and unresolved matches, where one or more
of the registrants did not keep their contact information current
with ISRR. Most of those have been concluded. However, the following
need more information from one or both of the registrants, to
determine if it is indeed a match.

Imaging
Please always remember that you are not alone. We receive
many thousands of new registrations each year and do matches nearly
every single day. There are search and support resources all over
the world, and hundreds of thousands who have gone before you in a
quest for family.
We work hard to keep this
registry free to registrants and are grateful for your generous
contributions which allows this service to continue uninterrupted since
1975.
