Assisting with Reg Day
--
For over a decade "Registration Day" has been sponsored by search and
support organizations and agencies throughout the country. It is now
usually scheduled in the beginning of November each year. ISRR
provides the registration forms, the processing of registrations
received and making the calls on resulting reunions. The organizing,
manning of tables, and other aspects are entirely handled by
independent resources. Contact your local group for information on how
to participate. The date for 2010 RegDay has not yet been
determined.
To volunteer or find out more information, contact
Petra B or visit the
RegDay Website by clicking here.
Assisting with Virtual Registration

Book Stores and other locations. If you have any expertise to offer,
please call the office number listed below.
Database
Design

All
our data is in SQL tables imported from old DBase and the new data
generated when indexing scanned images into KoVIS (Kodak Visual
Imaging System). Though we export and use these tables to compare
information in ACCESS we still need custom programming utilizing SQL
and KoVIS for optimum search, compare and retrieval. Anyone wishing to
assist us with this please contact the Registrar, Marri Rillera at
888-886-4777 extension 2.
Since
2003, Microsoft was generous in donating SQL
Enterprise Edition, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Office and other
software. TechSoup.com was of utmost assistance in helping us obtain
at generous discounts on Norton Corporate AntiVirus, DreamWeaver and other software.
From 2006 tjhrough 2009, additional programs including Microsoft's Windows Server 2003, Office
Suite
2003 & 2007, Info Path, Sharepoint Design, Expression Web, Design,
Blend & Encoder 3, Visual Studio Pro, SQL, and Visual FoxPro; Adobe's Design Bundle,
Dreamweaver and Creative Suite 4; Crystal Xcelsius; Intuit's Quicken Premier, QuickBooks Non-Profit;
Alpha 5; Ready Talk; Symantec's Internet Security & PC Anywhere; and others were donated
through TechSoup. Because of these donations our current need for software is only the
personalized programming design and development of the ISRR database described
above.
Computer Equipment --
Thanks to several generous donations of equipment and
funds from people ISRR reunited or served,
we now have the all our requested computers and equipment.
Contacting
Media
--
Over
the years many of people we served have shared their stories with
various magazines, newspapers, television and radio shows. We often
get calls from reporters and shows requesting interviews. If you would
like to be added to our in-house list please call the office and
request a media release form. If you share your story in any other way
we would love to receive copies or be informed of air dates. Please
feel free to give the ISRR website, telephone number and address to
interested media representatives. So many reunions occur because the
parties heard about another reunion through print or other media.

A mailing to all adoption agencies and state resources
is scheduled to be done in 2010. It will contain current registration forms, web site

clients. It has been nearly 2 decades since this was last done for ISRR
by a supportive non-profit. Estimated costs are $2,675.

Postage /
Stamps
--
Since
ISRR responds to many thousands of registrants and requests each year,
the postage costs are continual. Many have asked whether to send money
or stamps and we just want you to know that both are valued. A roll of
stamps goes a long way!
QuickBooks /
Accounting
--
Recently we acquired
Non-Profit QuickBooks donated by Inuit through TechSoup/Compumentor.
Anyone wanting to volunteer expertise please contact Marri at

We
are always in need of volunteers, especially in Las Vegas. Volunteers
do the bulk of our weekly work, opening mail, sorting, filing,
preparing files for imaging, and many more tasks -- including prepping
and helping with scanning registrations. Please join us!
We also utilize
Volunteer Match so click below to sign up there to volunteer for
ISRR or other non-profits:

Website
Development
--
Our
website is designed and maintained in-house, however we welcome
expertise we can draw on when necessary. Over the next two years we
have many projects that will need a great variety of help. Please call
or write and let us know your areas of knowledge.
